Matthew Kreusch (Dayton, 2027) and Ethan Krebs (Sunbury, 2026) have carded the only two rounds in the 60's thus far through 36 holes.
Kreusch, an University of Dayton commit, shot a 4-under-par 68 to take the solo lead heading into the final round of the Ohio Junior Championship at Shaker Run Golf Club.
It was a tale of two nines for Kreusch, who had three birdies and a bogey on his first-nine, then mixed four birdies and three bogeys on his second nine.
Kresuch (-2) leads by one stroke over Owen Heilmann and Brody Hayes, who he'll share the final grouping with tomorrow morning.
"I just want to stay present, not let the leaderboard and people behind me affect my process of what I'm here to do," Kresuch said of the anticipation heading into the final round.
A shot back sits 2024 Ohio Junior 15 & Under division winner Owen Heilmann of Galena. The rising junior would become the first player since Jason Collins to win the overall division and the 15 & under division in seperate years.
Also at -1 and in a tie for second is Brody Hayes of Liberty Township. The rising senior eagled 17, birdied 18, and added another birdie on the 1st to complete a four-hole stretch in 3-under-par.
Sitting alone in 4th is Ethan Krebs, an Ashland University commit, who carded a 5-under-par 67 on Tuesday, a 10 shot improvement from his round one score.
"The driver wasn't good yesterday. I really straightened it out today, hit some iron shots close, and then made a few putts," Krebs said of his day-to-day improvement.
His 67 included a stretch of five birdies in six holes that vaulted him up to solo 4th after day two.
Just last month, Krebs and Kreusch tied for medalist honors at the Ohio Amateur Championship qualifier at NCR Country Club.
With a win tomorrow, one of them will be qualified for the next five editions of the Ohio Amateur Championship, as well as this year's U.S. Junior Championship.
