The second edition of the 2026 Ohio Public/Municipal Championship takes place this week at Champions Golf Course in Columbus, The previously scheduled event in August at Raymond Memorial was rained out. We thank Champions GC for hosting this Ohio Golf Association Championship.

The defending Ohio Public/Municipal Champion is Peter Betzold, who dominated the field a year ago at Raymond Memorial GC.

This year's champions and runner-up will earn an exemption into the 2026 National Links Trust Championship Presented by DICK's Sporting Goods, October 16-18 at Northwest Golf Course in Silver Spring, Maryland.


COURSE PREVIEW

Champions Golf Course is considered one of Central Ohio’s most challenging public courses because of its rolling fairways, mature trees, demanding doglegs, undulating greens, and hilly terrain.

Formerly the Winding Hollow Country Club, Champions first opened in 1923 as a 9 hole course designed by Herbert Strong.  In 1954 Robert Trent Jones designed the current 18 hole course as played today.
