U.S. Open Final Qualifier
06/02/2024

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A to be determined number of qualifying spots into the U.S. Open will be up grabs on Monday, June 3 at the Ohio State University Golf Club. For the first time in decades, the U.S. Open Qualifier in Columbus will be hosted at one golf course.

Spectators are welcome and there is no cost of admission.
The 2024 U.S. Open will be contested from June 10-16 at Pinehurst Course No. 2.

ABOUT THE COURSE

For the first time since 2012, the Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University Golf Club will be a host to a U.S. Open Final Qualifier. Alister McKenzie, the architect of Augusta National and Cypress Point, designed the Ohio State University Golf Club Scarlet Course in 1931, but died in 1934. Perry Maxwell oversaw the construction of the course until its opening in 1938.

The course was renovated in 2006 by Jack Nicklaus, who restored bunkers and lengthened the course. The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, a staple on the Korn Ferry Tour, is played at Scarlet each fall. The OHSAA Division I State Championship has also been contested on the property for decades.

The course, along with the Ohio Golf Association, recently hosted a U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier and will host a U.S. Amateur Final Qualifier in July.
