PREVIEW: 2024 Ohio Junior Championship
06/09/2024

WRITTEN BY: Jack Rubin

VIENNA, Ohio -- Avalon Golf at Squaw Creek will host the 2024 Ohio Junior Championship on June 11-13.

For the first time, the Ohio Golf Association will utilize a 54-hole format to decide a junior champion. After round 2, a cut to low 40 and ties for the 16-18 division and low 14 and ties for the 15 & under division will be made.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Squaw Creek is one of the oldest championship caliber golf courses in the Midwest. Mature, tree-lined fairways will mean junior players will be tested off of the tee.

Squaw Creek was designed by Stanley Thompson, a highly talented Canadian golf course architect with more than 150 courses in his portfolio.

The signature hole is number 12, a short par 4 dogleg left that commands utmost precision off the tee before an approach to a demanding green.

Three par-5's in the final eight holes should make for an exciting finish on Thursday afternoon.
