The first Ohio Golf Association Championship of the season begins Monday, June 9 at Ashland Golf Club.
The Ohio Junior Championship, which has been contested since 1939, has only seen two players defend their title. Braden Herstich of Akron will have an opportunity to become the third this week at Ashland GC.
WHAT’S AT STAKE:
Overall Champion earns a five year exemption into the Ohio Amateur Championship.
Ohio Golf Association trophy is awarded to top-10 overall and top-5 15 & Under finishers.
AJGA’s Performance Based Entry Recognition System will be utilized for the overall results only. The champion of the event will earn an AJGA full exemption.

ABOUT THE COURSE:
Ashland Golf Club, formerly the Ashland Country Club, has hosted three editions of the Ohio Junior Championship (2001,
2016, and
2017).
In 1921, architect Willie Park Jr designed the original nine holes. The golf course expanded to 18 holes in 1973.
Park Jr. also designed courses such as Olympia Fields, Gullane GC, Marion Country Club in Ohio, and Sylvania Country Club near Toledo, which hosted the 2024 Ohio Amateur Championship.
