For the second year in a row, New Albany Country Club will host U.S. Women’s Open Qualifying.
This year’s U.S. Women’s Open takes place June 4-7 at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
COURSE NOTES
New Albany Country Club was opened in 1992 after an extensive 27-hole design by Jack Nicklaus.
It hosted the LPGA Tour Wendy’s Championship for Children from 1999-2001. The legendary Annika Sorenstam won the inaugural edition of the event in 1999.
According to Nicklaus Design, "The course is distinguished by its varying terrain. Some areas have the lush feel of the Carolinas; others suggest the ruggedness of the Scottish links. Rocky Fork Creek was incorporated into the design allowing it to blend with New Albany’s natural surroundings."
The 36-hole qualifier will utilize the North and West courses at New Albany CC.
NACC also hosted U.S. Women’s Open qualifying last year.
