The Ohio Golf Association’s USGA Qualifying schedule kicks off on Thursday with the U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier at New Albany Country Club.
78 players will compete for three qualifying spots and two alternate spots into the U.S. Women’s Open.
This year’s championship will take place at Erin Hills in Erin, Wis., May 29-June 1.
ABOUT THE COURSENew Albany Country Club was opened in 1992 after an extensive 27-hole design by the legendary Jack Nicklaus.
According to Nicklaus Design, "The course is distinguished by its varying terrain. Some areas have the lush feel of the Carolinas; others suggest the ruggedness of the Scottish links. Rocky Fork Creek was incorporated into the design allowing it to blend with New Albany’s natural surroundings."
The 36-hole qualifier will utilize the North and West courses at New Albany CC.
