PREVIEW: 2025 U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying
07/29/2025

COLUMBUS, Ohio - U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying returns to the Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University Golf Club on Wednesday, July 30th.

72 players will compete for 11 qualifying spots and two alternates into the 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship.

This year’s U.S. Amateur Championship will take place at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif., from August 11-17.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Alister McKenzie, the architect of Augusta National and Cypress Point, designed the Ohio State University Golf Club Scarlet Course in 1931, but died in 1934. Perry Maxwell oversaw the construction of the course until its opening in 1938.

The course was renovated in 2006 by Jack Nicklaus, who restored bunkers and lengthened the course. The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, a staple on the Korn Ferry Tour, is played at Scarlet each fall. The OHSAA Division I State Championship was also been contested on the property for decades.

The course, along with the Ohio Golf Association, hosted U.S. Amateur, U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Open Final Qualifying in 2024.
