The 2025 Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship kicks off on Monday at Brookside Golf & Country Club in Columbus.
The Top-40 and ties after round two will qualfiy for the third round.
The top-10 finishers & ties will be exempt for the 2026 Ohio Amateur Championship.
ABOUT THE COURSE
Brookside Golf & Country Club, founded in 1927, is a private club in Columbus, Ohio. The golf course recently completed a renovation done by architect Brian Silva. The renovation includes new and expanded greens, more consequential bunkering, and an entirely new par 3 (no. 11).
The course was recently included in Golf Digest’s 2023-2024 Top-20 Courses in Ohio list.
Brookside has hosted many U.S. Open Local and Final Qualifiers, as well as the 2012 Ohio Amateur and 2018 Trans-Mississippi Amateur.

FIELD NOTES
- Domenic Maricocchi (Cincinnati) returns to the Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship as the defending champion. Maricocchi was victorious a year ago at Coldstream.
- Columbus' Jake Gilkison won the Brookside Club Championship on Sunday, his third overall.
- Gilkison defeated Scott Anderson (Columbus) in the final match on Sunday. Anderson has won five club championships at Brookside and is a two-time champion of the Ohio Mid-Amateur (2016 and 2018).
- In total, there are 15 Brookside Golf & CC members in the field.
- Fairlawyn's Howard Clendenin led at the 18-hole mark at last year's edition, before finishing in a tie for fifth. Clendenin recently won the North & South Senior Amateur at Pinehurst.
- Jeg Coughlin III of Dublin recently qualified for both the U.S. Amateur Championship and U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. Coughlin finished runner-up in the 2024 Ohio Mid-Am at Coldstream.
