On this day in Ohio golf history, Bobby Jones won the U.S. Open at Scioto Country Club two weeks after his win at The Open.

Jones became the first person to win the U.S. Open and The Open in the same year, which he achieved again in 1930.

Scioto Country Club had only been around for ten years at the time. The club pro, George Sargent, was the 1909 U.S. Open winner.
