U.S. Open Final Qualifying returns to The Lakes Golf & Country Club in Westerville on Monday, June 8.
52 players will compete for a to be determined number of qualifying spots into the 2026 U.S. Open Championship.
This year’s
U.S. Open will be contested from June 18-21, at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The Lakes Golf & Country Club opened in 1990 after a design by former Buckeye golfer, Ed Sneed.
This championship course features well-manicured fairways and greens, with several holes on the back-nine being set around the picturesque Westerville Reservoir.
The Lakes co-hosted U.S. Open Final Qualifying a dozen times since 2000 and will be the solo host for the first time this century.
During U.S. Open Final Qualifying in 2003, Stewart Cink bogeyed his first hole at The Lakes. He followed that early mistake up by making 11 birdies en route to an opening round 10-under-par 62, which broke the course record. Cink then drove 15 minutes to the Double Eagle Club for his second round, where he then shot 61 to break another course record.
